Is redaction truly permanent?
Yes. When you apply redactions, each page is rasterised (converted to an image). The original text and content under the redaction boxes is destroyed, not just covered. There is no way to recover it.
Does my file leave my device?
No. fixtdoc runs entirely in your browser. Your PDF is never uploaded to any server. The redaction process happens locally on your machine.
Can I search for text to redact?
Yes. Use the Search & redact tool to find all instances of a name, number, or any text across the document. You can review matches before marking them for redaction.
Why is Redact a Pro feature?
Redaction is irreversible — once applied, the content is gone for good. Pro ensures you have access to the full editing experience, including search-and-redact, to get it right before applying.
